Aussie Uggs original Surf Boot was created in 1966 by our founder Bob Hayter to be worn by Sydney’s surfers - hence the name - when they came out of the water after surfing the sometimes cold Pacific ocean on Sydney's famous north shore beaches. Australian surfers took their ugg boots to surf competitions on the West Coast of the U.S. and Hawaii in the late 1960's, where they soon caught on with American surfers and later world wide.
